The weighted average lending rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans of scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) softened to 8.75% in August, from 8.81% in July, the Reserve Bank of India said in a release on Tuesday. The WALR on outstanding rupee loans also edged lower to 9.32% from 9.38% a month ago.
