A judge has dismissed murder and robbery charges against a Fort Wayne man who was accused of crimes tied to a 2017 homicide.

Tavon M. Underwood, 27, was arrested earlier this year on charges of murder, felony murder and robbery. Carlos D. Ellis, 27, received matching charges, which were filed more than seven years after 36-year-old Nicholas James Hennan was found in a wrecked vehicle.

Hennan died of multiple gunshot wounds, and the Allen County Coroner's Office ruled his death a homicide.

Underwood previously had a jury trial scheduled to start today. However, Deputy Prosecutor Tasha Lee filed a motion Friday to dismiss Underwood's charges.
