MAYFIELD, Ky. (WSIL) -- A traffic stop on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a fugitive from Mayfield, as reported by the Graves County Sheriff's Office.

Sgt. Ben Doran and Deputy Tanner Bazarnyj with the Graves County Sheriff's Office, stopped a vehicle which was reportedly traveling at 30 mph over the speed limit on US 45 North at around 5:30 p.m. on September 29, 2025.

Authorities said the driver initially provided false information, but with assistance from the Mayfield Police Department, deputies identified him as 21-year-old Jesus Martinez Garcia from Mayfield.

The sheriff's office said Garcia had three active warrants in Graves County, which were Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Mo
