TOLEDO, Ohio — Attorneys for Darnell Jones-Ogletree, the father accused of killing his 13-year-old daughter Kei'mani Latigue, have filed a motion in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to suppress evidence obtained during a March search of Jones’ home and vehicle.

Latigue disappeared in March and was then found raped and murdered in an abandoned house in east Toledo.

The search warrant, conducted on March 21, authorized Toledo police to seize a pair of girls’ yellow underwear with blue lace, allegedly stained with blood, a plastic mat from the rear of a red Ford Explorer, and a pair of men’s muddy boots. The defense argues that the affidavit supporting the warrant failed to establish probable cause, violating both the U.S. and Ohio Constitutions.
