The Selma City Council has passed a new budget, which totals more than $21 million.

It was approved unanimously at a special called meeting last night.

The budget adds a tax on vape products in the amount of 10 cents per milliliter, which will go into effect January 1. It’s expected the tax will bring in $50,000 of revenue each year.

Leaders say the city is currently about 11% over budget through the 11 months of the fiscal year.
