(KTXL) – The renowned children's educational show "Reading Rainbow" is returning to PBS after nearly 20 years, now with a viral former librarian as the new host.
Mychal Threets, who worked as a librarian in Northern California for many years, will be making his debut as the new face of "Reading Rainbow" when the show returns for all-new episodes, Threets and Buffalo Toronto Public Media revealed on social media.
"After nearly 20 years… Reading Rainbow is returning to motivate, help, and encourage kids to become avid readers with new episodes, new friends, new projects, and of course… new books!" reads an Instagram post announcing the news. "Make sure to follow the rainbow."
The official release date for the reboot has yet to be announced; however, the official trailer teased new episode
