SHREVEPORT, La. – Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) will conduct a full-scale emergency disaster drill simulating an aircraft accident at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The exercise is a collaboration between the Shreveport Airport Authority, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and emergency response providers from Shreveport, Caddo Parish, the Louisiana State Police, and Barksdale Air Force Base.
The drill is designed to ensure that community first responders have an opportunity to train together in the event of a large-scale incident at the airport. The exercise will include a simulated airplane crash, passenger extractions, and patient triage. Hospitals will also extend the drill by practicing receiving patients through a mass casualty even
