Public Enemy was Jimmy Kimmel ‘s first musical guest for the special week of Brooklyn shows and they sent a message with their performance.

Flavor Flav and Chuck D performed a medley of songs, including their iconic hit “Fight the Power” during their Jimmy Kimmel Live performance on Monday (September 29) in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The rap icons kicked off the performance by telling Jimmy , who was recently suspended by ABC over his Charlie Kirk comments, that they “just want you to know that Public Enemy always got your back.”

Chuck and Flav then launched the performance of their song “Don’t Believe the Hype,” which begins with the word “back.” The duo also performed their new song “The Hits Keep On Comin’.”
