Aldo Parrotta hopes the upcoming juried art auction IGNITE will help spark a professional art centre in Welland.

The founder and director of The Art Gallery of Welland said the fundraiser will bring together 40 juried artworks from Welland and across Niagara, showcasing a vibrant mix of paintings, sculpture, glass, contemporary works, and abstracts.

“IGNITE is more than a fundraiser — it’s the spark for a professional art centre in Welland and a direct investment in local arts programming for all ages,” said Parrotta in a news release.

Rob Pagetto, Canadian television personality, entertainer and Port Colborne native, will run the action in Celebration Hall at the Welland International Flatwater Centre, 16 Townline Tunnel Rd. , on Thursday, Oct. 23.
