MOSS POINT, Miss. (WLOX) - The City of Moss Point is seeking help from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department amid a staffing shortage at its police department.
The Moss Point Police Department has been dealing with a severe staffing shortage since Police Chief Brandon Ashley announced his resignation last week, causing two officers and three detectives to also resign.

A special meeting was held Monday night at Moss Point City Hall.
On the agenda was a vote to begin negotiations with the Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement coverage in the city.
