Law enforcement arrested a suspect Tuesday accused of shooting a man dead on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation and wounding another.

Ethan Murphy, 26, was identified as the suspect in the shooting, which occurred Sunday night in Wolf Point. His arrest " was handled swiftly and safely," according to as statement posted to social media.

The multi-agency effort to apprehend Murphy included the Wolf Point Police Department, Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office, Wolf Point Fire Department, Indian Health Service staff, U.S. Border Patrol and Montana Highway Patrol. Fort Peck law enforcement did not immediately respond to questions regarding where the arrest occurred, and the victim in the shooting has yet to be identified.
