New Delhi: Sandip Sanjay Sargar scripted history on Tuesday by winning the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F44 Final at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi. The Maharashtra para-athlete produced a sensational performance and clinched the top podium spot with a Personal Best throw of 62.82m in his 5th attempt.

It was double delight for India in the men’s javelin F44 final as Sandip and Sandeep Chaudhary made it an Indian one-two with the latter winning the silver. The pair of medals took India’s medal tally to eight at the World Para Athletics Championships.
