Doc season 2 has confirmed Scott Wolf's return as Dr. Richard Miller. A remake of the Italian series Doc - Nelle tue mani , Doc follows a Dr. Amy Larsen, who is injured in a car accident, and forgets the previous eight years. The show debuted on January 7, 2025, on Fox, and in February 2025, Doc season 2 was renewed.

The show features prominent characters working at Westside Hospital, and Dr. Miller, as acting Chief of Internal Medicine, is one of the most important. Following a critical mistake during a code blue that resulted in the death of a patient, Miller was fired from his role, with his future at Westside Hospital unclear. Per Variety
