Sign removal is triggered by complaints and the city said it has received an average of 49 daily requests

A councillor seeking reelection claims campaign signs placed by volunteers in Ward 2 — comprising communities in northwest Calgary — have been removed, while paid signs in the same area have been left untouched.

Ward 2 councillor Jennifer Wyness said she saw most election signs, irrespective of their political affiliation, were swept off her ward by bylaw officers this week.

“It was inequitable enforcement on the bylaw where those who paid got their signs to stay,” Wyness told Postmedia.
