SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food has issued a health alert after a Utahn died of listeria. The listeria was linked to ready-to-eat pasta meals sold at Walmart and Trader Joe’s.

In a press release, the UDAF said these ready-to-eat pasta meals may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes . They’ve caused 20 illnesses, 19 hospitalizations and four deaths nationally, including one in Utah. It said the actual number of illnesses may be higher, “as many cases may go unreported.”
