Republicans and Democrats in Congress still remain at odds over how to fund the government ahead of closures set for 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday — after leaders on both sides of the political aisle met with President Donald Trump on Monday as part of an eleventh-hour effort to reach an agreement.

Neither side has shown an openness to compromising, as a major area of disagreement centers on health care.
