STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City’s education department announced a new tool that will share progress toward critical work like increasing school safety, wellness, improving literacy and math proficiency, and more.

Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos unveiled a series of initiatives designed to accelerate academic progress and strengthen leadership at her first “State of our Schools” address on Monday.

As part of the announcement, the city Department of Education announced a new dashboard tool that will share the agency’s progress of several initiatives under three main commitments.

Those commitments include ensuring safety and promoting wellness; strengthening comprehensive teacher supports; and fostering genuine and impactful family and community empowerment.
