SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Monday, a Minnehaha County jury convicted Kevin Dewayne Bass on multiple charges following a four-day jury trial.

Bass was found guilty of Rape in the Second Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Rape in the Fourth Degree, Simple Assault, and False Imprisonment.

During the trial, prosecutors from the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office presented evidence that Bass forced his ex-girlfriend into her own home before assaulting her.

The victim was able to call her father using voice commands during the assault, which led to his arrest.

Further investigation revealed the incident was part of a pattern of abuse that occurred throughout the relationship.
