While director Michael Mann toils away on a long-awaited sequel to his crime classic Heat , a reboot of Miami Vice , the television show that he adapted into a 2006 film, is gearing up as well. The Miami Vice reboot will definitely make it to the big screen before Heat 2 , seeing as it's directed by Joseph Kosinski , who has two back-to-back blockbusters under his belt. Mann, on the other hand, is coming off of two of the biggest box office bombs of the last decade. However, he has always been ahead of his time, as evidenced by the home video success of his Miami Vice movie. It recently debuted in certain territories on HBO Max and immediately broke into the streamer's global viewership charts.
