ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

A public memorial for the medical flight crew who died in a crash on Aug. 7 was held Monday at the Kiva Auditorium.

The two-propeller aircraft operated by CSI Aviation in Albuquerque crashed short of the Chinle, Arizona, Airport runway, where it was scheduled to pick up a patient. The plane caught fire on impact. All four people aboard were killed.

First responders were from the Chinle police district of the Navajo Police Department, Navajo EMS and the Navajo Nation Fire & Rescue Services.

The memorial at the Kiva included a Navajo EMS procession honor guard and a blessing from the Navajo Nation.
