PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Priceville Police Chief Jerry Holmes confirmed Officer Garry Chapman, the officer involved in a police chase that ended in a deadly crash in Hartselle, is no longer employed by the department.
Speaking to News 19 over the phone on Sept. 9, Priceville Mayor Sam Heflin said that Chapman had been placed on administrative leave after the chase, which was initiated on Interstate 65. Priceville Police said the chase began when an officer attempted to stop the suspect for moving violations/suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Priceville Police Department previously said the officers involved in the chase were placed on administrative leave.
