WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — Police are investigating after an adult allegedly posed as a teenager to enroll as a student at White Bear Lake Area High School.

The school district did not disclose the person's name, gender or exact age in its letter to families, but said the person is over the age of 21. School officials also said the person was taken into police custody and is no longer allowed on district property.

According to the district, the individual used "fraudulent documentation" and a false identity to enroll as a student. The district added that its enrollment process is "as rigorous as state law allows."
