A bomb threat Tuesday morning, Sept. 30, closed classes at Monroe County Community College’s main campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Road and the Whitman Center, 777 Lewis Ave. in Temperance.
Campus security cleared the schools and used it’s early alert system to notify students and staff. MCCC evacuated students to the Monroe County Intermediate School District as a safety precaution.
Using the school’s website and social media, officials said both campuses would be closed as Monroe County Sheriff's Office searched locations.
At 4:07 p.m., all campus buildings at MCCC’s main campus and its Whitman Center in Temperance were cleared and declared safe, according to Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success Dr. Scott Behrens.
