Lauren Greeny secured Montana State’s second individual win of the season and the fourth of her career to lead the Bobcats to a runner-up team finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational on Tuesday in Iowa City, Iowa.
Powered by her Finkbine Golf Course-record round of 64 on Monday, Greeny added rounds of 75 and 72 to conclude the tournament at 5-under 211, six strokes clear of the rest of the field. Greeny also set the Diane Thomason Invitational record for low tournament score, surpassing the previous mark of 212 set by Iowa’s Jessica Ip in 2015.
As a team, Montana State claimed its fourth top-five finish of the year, including its third straight tournament placing in the top three. The Cats carded rounds of 293, 300 and 301 to conclude the tournament with an 894, finishing five strokes
