The Georgia Nut Company has issued a recall on several Tru Fru freeze-dried strawberry products sold at multiple retailers due to a potential foreign material contamination.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), several varieties of Tru Fru's freeze-dried strawberries sold at multiple retailers including CVS and Target have been recalled due to the potential presence of metal.
If consumed, the metal may cause traumatic injuries like laceration and perforation of tissues of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach and intestine, as well as damage to your teeth or gums.
So far, no injuries or illnesses stemming from the recalled products have been reported.
