WFLAWINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is reminding people to lock their car doors at night after a series of car burglaries led to the arrests of three teenage boys, one only 14 years old.
It started Sept. 18, when a woman living on Timberline Road West reported that someone had taken cash and money orders from her wallet in her unlocked car the night before. A surveillance camera captured a suspect carrying a Nike backpack and testing car door handles to see if they were locked.
On Sept. 28, another burglary was reported on Timberline Road East, in which a 9mm handgun and cash were taken from an unlocked car. This time, surveillance video captured two suspects testing door handles, PCSO said.
