WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A program that serves homeless veterans in Sedgwick County is changing hands. The Salvation Army is no longer operating a program meant to help low-income veterans with case management and housing help.

The Salvation Army's Supportive Services for Veteran Families program helps connect veterans with housing options by providing temporary financial assistance that can cover rent and utilities or by assisting them in finding a place to live.

Those who run other programs that help local veterans have seen how the program works.

"We've seen the whole process from beginning to end with them, from homelessness to coming here to our outreach center and getting their homes fully furnished beside their case worker. So yeah, they do it all," Passageways founder Jennifer Gar
