LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Louisville Metro Police Department now has two new tools to help officers patrol downtown Louisville, and it didn't cost taxpayers any money.
On Tuesday, the Louisville Metro Police Foundation announced they would be donating two brand-new Utility Terrain Vehicles for officers to use in downtown Louisville.
The UTVs are decked out in LMPD stickers, lights, and sirens. They also have doors and windows that can be used during adverse weather. But most of the time, officers who use the UTVs are encouraged to have their windows open. That way, LMPD Lieutenant Caleb Stewart said, officers can be more visible and approachable.
