ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. —
A Kentucky man accused of killing a mother and her daughter was back in court Tuesday.
Joshua Cottrell is charged with two counts of murder and tampering with physical evidence in the deaths of Kayla Blake, 37, and her daughter Kennedi McWhorter, 13.
They were found stabbed to death inside their home.
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office found Blake and McWhorter dead inside a Rowan County home on Sept. 19, when deputies were dispatched for a welfare check.
Cottrell was arrested nearly five hours away from the scene in McCracken County.
He appeared virtually for his arraignment on Tuesday, as he's being held in the Montgomery County Jail. Cottrell was joined by a public defender, who entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.
