Officials at Baltimore-area universities are investigating threats received Tuesday morning to their campuses.
Towson University issued an “all clear” message around 1 p.m. after having sent an emergency notification, saying it was evacuating the University Union around 11:30 na.m. amid the receipt of an emailed bomb threat. Anyone inside the building was told to evacuate and clear the area.
University President Mark Ginsberg sent a letter to the campus community, saying, in part: “We have learned that this was not an isolated incident, as other universities across both our region and the country also received similar messages. We take all threats very seriously and always will mount an appropriate response. We will not tolerate threats of this or any other kind.”
