A WOMAN has been jailed for assaulting New England police after she tried to stop them arresting another person.
Katrina Greenslade was originally convicted in her absence of a charge of resisting police and two counts of assaulting police, but sought to enter not guilty pleas before Magistrate Mark Richardson in Armidale Local Court on Monday, September 29.
"She instructs me to plead not guilty to those charges," duty solicitor David White said.
"She's been convicted of them," Mr Richardson said.
"She's had plenty of opportunity to file for a Section four (to void the conviction), and she hasn't done it."
Police prosecutor Sergeant Donna Rayner said Greenslade had been removed from the courtroom by the sheriff previously.
