LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Police detailed the investigation that led to the arrest of a man accused of leaving a dog in a kennel to die in the Las Vegas summer heat.

According to an arrest report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, investigators received a tip on July 11 and found the French bulldog in the kennel near the 100 block of North 27th Street, near Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street in east Las Vegas.

Investigators gathered video from surrounding homes and businesses and took fingerprints and DNA left on the kennel, the report said. They identified a video showing two men dragging a large kennel covered with a sheet to a dumpster. Police said the men could be seen adjusting the sheet to cover the kennel and leaving on foot.
