Reno’s Grand Sierra Resort hotel-casino kicked off the biggest expansion in the property’s history as it officially broke ground on its $1 billion arena project.

The groundbreaking, which was held at the GSR’s northwest parking lot on Tuesday, Sept. 30, has been a long time coming, said Christopher Abraham, chief marketing officer for the hotel-casino.
