The Goodwill Excel Center, a tuition-free high school for Kentucky adults, is seeking additional state funding to expand its program by opening a second location.
Since opening in 2022 in Louisville, the center has graduated about 170 students. Last year, the General Assembly allocated $2 million toward the center's operations, with Goodwill covering an additional $300,000 in costs. Advertisement
"There's over 300,000 people in Kentucky that do not have a high school diploma. So, we believe there's a need. And we'd like to start chipping away at some of those numbers and provide a diploma, a high school diploma, to those in need," Dr. Marsha Berry, director of the Goodwill Excel Center, said.
