Syracuse, N.Y. — A Mattydale woman has been accused of stealing over $64,000 from the Roxboro Road Middle School Parent Teacher Organization, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

Kristen L. Pyer, 52, was arrested Monday on charges of second-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, according to Deputy Doug Roser, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.

In March of 2024, the PTO’s newly elected officials reported missing funds, bank account discrepancies and unpaid vendors. With help from the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, investigators conducted a forensic accounting review and determined that $64,809.89 was unaccounted for.
