The Volusia Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for a man after he allegedly defrauded a group of people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Robert Goodwin, 56, is accused of using his travel agency, Stone & Compass Inc., to sell and then cancel without a refund an international trip to 104 students and chaperones from Seabreeze High School in Volusia County.
Those students and chaperones were defrauded out of about $400,000, the Volusia Sheriff's Office said. According to a complaint filed by Florida's attorney general, a number of those people were able to get some money back through credit card chargebacks or other partial payments.
The total amount of unreturned funds was $181,800 owed to 43 people when the complaint was filed in August 2025.
