On September 11, the 37-year-old reportedly fell from a building while intoxicated, leading authorities to rule it an accident. However, a text message allegedly sent by Yu moments before his death has sparked outrage among fans.

In the message, he warned his mother, “Every time I see the money they transfer, I vomit. That money isn’t earned by me, it’s dirty. I must say goodbye now, Mother. They may come and kill me anytime. I’m not joking, and I’m not hallucinating."
