MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - Minot residents had the chance to meet the finalists for city manager and talk about what matters most to the community.

They answered questions on transparency, communication, and about building a team.

Building a cohesive team is at the heart of the three finalists vying to be Minot’s next city manager.

Tom Joyce is already a familiar face; he started as assistant city manager last January and has been serving as interim since Harold Stewart’s departure earlier this year.

Joyce spoke about putting people first and connecting one-on-one with employees.

“Just listening to them, and where can I, as a leader, remove barriers? And just help them get the job done,” said Joyce.

Joyce highlighted the importance of recruiting people with the right attitude.
