SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has announced that the squirrel and rabbit hunting seasons will begin across Louisiana.

Starting Saturday, Oct. 4, and running until Feb. 28, 2026, this annual event offers outdoor sportsmen the opportunity to partake in a highly popular event.

To participate in these hunting seasons, participants 18 years old or older must possess a basic hunting license.

Hunters are encouraged to take advantage of the many public lands managed by the LDWF, which offer a range of hunting opportunities at relatively low costs.
