Funding bills from both parties fail, government shutdown imminent

Democrats and Republicans failed to pass a bill on how to fund the U.S. government on Tuesday, setting the stage for a midnight government shutdown. Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other members of their parties spoke out throughout the voting process.
