PROVO — The Turning Point chapter at Brigham Young University reported a significant increase in membership during fall semester, and a spokesperson for the chapter said it is now one of the largest in the nation.
Nathan Neuhaus, the outreach coordinator for the chapter, said in the weeks following the shooting that killed Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, thousands of students had joined.
His claim about growing membership is supported by numbers from the chapter’s Instagram account: Since Kirk’s death, the chapter has garnered several thousand likes on multiple posts on the platform, mostly eclipsing engagement on posts made before the shooting.
“ Our chapter is exploding and we have big plans ahead,” Neuhaus said.
