Queens Man Indicted After Service Dog’s Brutal Death Sparks Outrage

A Queens man has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with a disturbing case of animal cruelty that left a community horrified. Prosecutors say 29-year-old Isaiah Gurley was responsible for the death of a pit bull service dog named Square K, who belonged to a family member.

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the dog had been left in Gurley’s care in late July. Instead of providing protection and compassion, prosecutors allege Gurley subjected the service dog to shocking violence. Surveillance video from July 24 reportedly shows him dragging the motionless pit bull down a South Ozone Park street by its leash.
