PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Attorney General Peter Neronha on Tuesday threw his support behind Democrat Keith Hoffmann, one of his former top aides, to be his successor.
Neronha -- who is term-limited and cannot run again -- joined Hoffmann and the candidate's wife, Dr. Rachel Hoffmann, as speakers at a campaign kickoff event in Providence. The 38-year-old is a political newcomer but spent years working in the attorney general's office.
"Keith was our point person -- my point person -- on everything that I thought was most important in this time, from my perspective, for Rhode Islanders," Neronha said. "That included health care, that included climate, that included consumer protection, and it included Donald Trump."
Hoffmann used his campaign launch video and kickoff speech to position
