Union Oil Company of California (Unocal), a Chevron affiliate, is donating 2,700 acres of restored coastal dune habitat from the Guadalupe Restoration Project to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The donation, once finalized, will double the size of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge, enhancing public access and supporting long-term ecological preservation of one of California’s most sensitive coastal landscapes, said Jeff Moore, lead public affairs advisor for Chevron Environmental Management Company.

Moore spoke as he lead a media tour around the dunes Tuesday, pausing occasionally to gesture toward key restoration zones.
