BARBERTON, Ohio — This week's high school football game between Barberton and Granger Highland has been canceled.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Highland Local Schools revealed that coaches from Barberton have pulled out of Friday's game due to injuries that has caused a "lack of available players." According to officials, 10 of the Magics' starters are suffering from injuries.

Since Friday was supposed to be the Hornets' homecoming game, Highland says it attempted to work towards a compromise with both Barberton and the Suburban League that would've allowed the festivities to continue. These modified guidelines would've included "limited playing time for our starters, using abbreviated quarters, and implementing a running clock, among other adjustments.
