RATHDRUM, Idaho — The Lakeland School District is competing for $1 million as a finalist in T-Mobile's nationwide "Friday Night 5G Lights" competition.
The district ranks fourth among 25 school districts vying for the grand prize, which would fund transformations to the current football stadium facilities and weight room upgrades.
"It would just bring, I think, extra meaning to their whole high school career and just turn this place into a dream that even the visitors want to come," said Pete Schmitt, a parent in the Lakeland School District.
The competition requires community support through online voting to determine the winner.
Voting closes Oct. 24.
