FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth City Council voted Tuesday to rezone land near Forest Hill and Lon Stephenson Road in southeast Fort Worth. It's just the latest approval related to a proposed development that would pave the way for a proposed data center campus despite opposition from nearby residents and business owners.
Black Mountain Power is proposing a long-term capital investment, they estimate, of more than $10 billion for the project, according to Bob Riley, a landscape architect working with the company.
"You're going to see a number of buildings that... basically look like office buildings, but their tenants are computers," Riley said.
Riley said the company projects the creation of hundreds of jobs, thousands of construction jobs, and millions in local tax revenue.
