LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - More questions have arisen after the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office released the 2024 audit of the Calcasieu Parish School Board.

Monday’s report revealed the possible misuse of over $20,000 by three schools: Sulphur High School, LaGrange High School, and Kaufman Elementary.

Now, CPSB officials are addressing the report and answering some questions.

“We’re going to have to report those when necessary to law enforcement, which we do. We’re going to have to turn around and report them to the legislative auditor, which we do. It also helps us put some processes in place to make sure these things don’t happen again,” CPSB Superintendent Dr. Jason VanMetre said.
