Taylor Swift is honoring the late George Michael with one of the songs on her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl !

It has been revealed that the 35-year-old entertainer is paying tribute to the late singer with her new song, “Father Figure,” featuring an interpolation of George ‘s ’80s hit of the same name.

Billboard has confirmed that the new track will actually interpolate the 80s hit, instead of sampling it, as it was previously rumored for weeks.

If you didn’t know, an interpolation “involves taking part of an existing musical

work (as opposed to a sound recording) and incorporating it into a new work,” according to the US Copyright Office .
