ATLANTA — Bobby Wagner has the kind of experience most players could only dream about. He won a Super Bowl — a dozen years ago. He was named to the NFL’s all-decade team — last decade. He has long graduated into his “Unc” era, the phase of life only men of a certain age can understand, while still performing as the Washington Commanders’ best option at linebacker — in his 14th season.
So this is just to say, Wagner has seen better days than Sunday. There was nothing particularly nostalgic about the Atlanta Falcons’ 34-27 win over Washington. Especially — holy smokes — that one play early in the third quarter.
